Filipendula rubra

Plantaerium

Filipendula rubra 'Venusta,' also known as Queen of the Prairie, is a tall, stately perennial with large fragrant deep pink flowers that fade to pale pink over time. Its deeply cut, bright green foliage adds texture and contrast, making it a striking presence in borders and naturalized plantings. Thriving in moist, fertile soil, it performs best in full sun to part shade and is highly resistant to deer. Ideal for rain gardens, stream edges, and cottage-style landscapes, this long-lived perennial provides reliable summer color with minimal maintenance.
