PlantaeriumLilium henryi , also known as Henry’s Lily, is a striking species lily native to China. It bears nodding, orange blooms heavily speckled with maroon and finished with strongly recurved petals, giving it a refined yet wild, naturalistic presence in the garden. Blooming from mid to late summer, it brings vibrant color and architectural texture to borders and mixed plantings. Plants reach 4 to 8 feet tall on slender, sturdy stems lined with lance-shaped green leaves. This species thrives in full sun to part shade in rich, well-drained soil and is more tolerant of heat, sun, and soil disturbance than many other species lilies. Hardy in USDA zones 5 to 8, it returns reliably each year and shows excellent disease resistance.
