Double Play Princess
Spiraea 'FARROWSJKO'
Spirea royalty! We’ve spent years seeking an improvement on ‘Little Princess’ spirea, and we’ve finally found it. Double Play® Princess Spiraea japonica is more vibrant than the previous princess and resists fading to a dull pink. Not only is the bright pink flower color better, but this spirea also boasts an even neater, more compact habit. Like the rest of the Double Play® series of spirea, Double Play® Princess has superior, colorful foliage and is a durable, disease resistant landscape shrub. This adorable compact spirea has excellent container presence, making it a delight for you to grow and shoppers to snag at retail. Double Play® Princess spirea was developed by Mike Farrow.
Double Play Candy Corn
Spiraea 'NCSX1'
Crazy colorful spirea! You have to see Double Play® Candy Corn® spirea to believe it! Candy apple red foliage starts the show in spring. As the season progresses, the foliage transforms to pineapple yellow. Dark purple blooms appear in late spring, making this the most eye-poppingly colorful Double Play® spirea yet. This sterile, triploid spirea was developed by Tom Ranney of NCSU.
Double Play Doozie
Spiraea 'NCSX2'
Double Play Doozie® spirea is a ground-breaking non-invasive spirea, the first of its kind. Its lack of seed also makes it a perpetual bloomer, putting all of its energy into creating wave after wave of red-pink flowers from early summer through frost. No deadheading required! Foliage emerges in shades of red and lime green before maturing to a dark green. Double Play Doozie® spirea is incredibly low-maintenance and naturally grows as a neat mound but responds well to pruning if any shaping is desired. This innovative Spiraea x was developed by Dr. Tom Ranney at NCSU.
