Spilled Wine

Weigela 'Bokraspiwi'

Spilled Wine® weigela has dark red, wavy leaves and a spreading habit. Its hot pink-magenta flowers are similar to those of Wine & Roses® weigela, but this is a smaller plant that is wider than it is tall. It greatly expands the versatility of that best selling weigela. Spilled Wine® weigela was the 2018 Landscape Shrub of the Year.

Bubbly Wine

Weigela 'FLORACLAR'

A sparkling color display on a petite shrub. Bubbly Wine® weigela is a variegated selection of Fine Wine® weigela with a compact mounded habit. This little shrub boasts vibrant yellow and green foliage and deep burgundy stems. In spring, it’s dotted with pink trumpet-shaped flowers that attract hummingbirds and other pollinators. While pollinators enjoy this little shrub, deer don’t seem to bother it. Thanks to its compact habit, Bubbly Wine® weigela tucks perfectly into many gardens in mixed borders, low hedges, or even in containers. Bubbly Wine® Weigela florida was discovered by the plantsman Jeff Good of Southeast Michigan.

SONIC BLOOM Punch

Weigela 'SMNW9RB'

At 2.5-4' tall and wide, Sonic Bloom Punch weigela may be the smallest, most compact plant in the Sonic Bloom series , but it has big impact in the garden or landscape. That's thanks to the incredible vibrant punch-pink color of its blooms, which smother the plant in spring, obscuring the foliage, and come back repeatedly through summer and fall to extend the show. Foliage has a handsome bronze color that provides excellent contrast. Easy to grow in production and landscapes alike, it also offers tremendous impulse appeal at the garden center.

Vinho Verde

Weigela 'SMNWFBGV'

There’s nothing else quite like Vinho Verde ® weigela! After years of positive feedback from trial garden visitors during its evaluation, we're pleased to offer this unique selection, characterized by lime green leaves set off with a bold, black margin. Discovered as a variegated sport on a seedling whose parents were golden ‘Briant’s Rubidor’ and burgundy ‘Naomi Campbell’. Like all variegated plants, it will occasionally revert, but it reverts to all black, so will not overgrow the plant. A light crop of red-pink flowers appear in late spring, but the foliage - coupled with an irresistibly neat habit - are the primary reasons to grow this beauty.

SONIC BLOOM Wine

Weigela 'SMNWFG'

It's finally here! The first-ever dark-leafed weigela with repeat flowering. While not quite as dark as Spilled Wine® weigela, the deep purple foliage provides a wonderful, summer-long contrast to the bubblegum-pink flowers. As an added delight, the flowers, at times, will surprise you with a hot-pink, star-like marking. And they say Easter eggs are only for movies and video games!

Midnight Wine Shine

Weigela 'SMNWFMS'

If you grew Midnight Wine ® , it's time to switch to Midnight Wine Shine ® . This is an improved selection with darker, extremely glossy foliage. Its parentage comes from the Canadian variety 'Tango', so it has excellent hardiness and is less prone to tip dieback. While its flowers are a bit better than Midnight Wine, the plant is grown for its attractive foliage and habit making it a great replacement for Berberis in places where it's banned.

Midnight Sun

Weigela 'Verweig9'

Hues of cream, green, and pink, layered with a cast of purple make My Monet Purple Effect ® weigela a noteworthy selection. From renowned plantsman Bert VerHoef, it shares the same dwarf habit and neat, variegated foliage of the original My Monet ® weigela but is exceptionally strong flowering. It is a bit faster growing and has proven more heat tolerant in our trials. The foliage looks good right up until frost, giving new energy to this long-time favorite.

SONIC BLOOM Red

Weigela

The lipstick-red flowers of Sonic Bloom® Red weigela are remarkable enough to make this a choice selection, but a burst of flowers in May followed by waves of rebloom until frost make it positively extraordinary. Deadheading is not needed for continuous bloom. Sonic Bloom ® is a registered trademark of the Syngenta Group Company.
